Her debut song Here was released in 2015. The song received praise both by music critics as well as listeners. It was ranked in the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone called the single one of its Best Songs in the year 2015. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. This particular track was special because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners related to her journey of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to love herself. Cara has a reputation for her messages on emotional health, kindness, and self-love into her music. The music of Cara is directly from her battle with mental illness, insomnia and other health issues. In an interview with Reuters she declared her album to be "half tumultuous" and "half perfect". Therapy helped her grow and advises people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since the year 1996. Her parents are of Italian descent. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was 10 and this ignited her love for music. After three years, at 13 years old, she started to sing her favorite tracks via YouTube. It was an excellent opportunity to show others that she possessed both ability and determination. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention.
