At the age of 19, she released her debut single, Here. It was a huge smash and garnered praise from the public and from critics. It reached the top spot at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. Her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five songs that reached the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track since, in light of her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of people who listened to her music could identify with her journey of finding love for themselves, and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is famous for including messages about mental health love and self-love into her music. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal journey as she has struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview she describes her album as half-tumultuous and half complete. The singer says that she found her growth during therapy. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on the 11th of July, 1996 to parents from Italian descent. At the age of 10 old, her parents bought her a guitar, which was the beginning of her passion for music. 2013 was the year she recorded the songs she loved for YouTube the most popular media platform. The goal was to prove that she had both the ability and the confidence to be an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
