Alicia Silverstone is the daughter of Monty Silverstone (father) and Deidre R. Radford. She was born in Hillsborough on 4 October 1976. She has half-siblings from the previous marriage of her father. She was raised in San Francisco, a city with a middle-class population. In her early years, at six she started modeling and later became the main character in her first television ad in the name of Domino's Pizza. Silverstone was a student at Crocker Middle and San Mateo High Schools. Silverstone starred in her first credited performance on The Wonder Years in 1992.
